New Spot For Mixing / Recording . Recommendations Please !!!

Hi

I record and recently mix a little my own music as a hobby, these is the space where i usually do it, this room doesn't have any treatment as you can see, i only have around $600-700 to invest in a little gear and would like opinions . I was thinking of buying some entry level monitors, but since the room is untreated i was wondering if it was pointless, i've heard about mixing on headphones but i don't know what will be the most convenient/affordable choice.

Is it possible to close off one of those doors and fire down the length of the room? That would help. A decent set of monitors would not be pointless. There's no reason you can't get great results in that room from the looks of it. I would look at some KRK monitors and invest in some 703 for some corner bass traps and panels at your first reflection points. You could do that in your budget.

Actually i can't close any door , i saw a deal on eBay of an mbox mini 3 and a pair of KRK RP5 G2 fro $500 , but i was wondering if maybe i should go for the RP6 i've heard people prefer them, some over the RP8 , and i would definitely look for those bass trap and panels.

I can't express how much better it would be to fire your speakers down the longer part of the room. Don't discount that simply because it doesn't sound like what you might want to do. Technically, your desk shouldn't be right up against the wall. So, you can still leave both doors open. Just make a portable base trap and slide it in and out for access to that door. Do some more research before you jump into anything.
 
Turn the desk 90 degrees to the left so it's right behind the couch and the speakers fire towards the drum kit. Trap behind the kit and FRPs on the side walls. Can you hang a cloud? Do it.
