uhmm... maybe you've already taken care of this but arent' you supposed to be working on a collab with your partner Pedullist? He's been known to drop the sweet vox a chaaazappa. Since you're working together it might give you the perfect opp to pop the qwestion.

Anyway, the tracks gave me a kinda classic rock maybe Steppenwolf?? feel to them?/ I dunno. Sounds like a solid recording to me but never NEVER take my word on mixing.

Do you have a link for DL? I can't stream for doo-doo on dial-up.

Thanks Kramer. Good thing I didn't ruin it by singing on it.

Here's the link to download if anyone is interested

Very cool stuff. Lots of great sounds in there. And it's a cool tune. It should be cool with vocals. Got a Beatles/Zepplin feel. (That's a compliment because I like the Beatles, and as long as there's no vocals I like Zepplin too).

Check the balance on the drums. Sometimes the toms and hi hat seem kind of far away.

Okay, got it. Usual disclaimer up front here: I don't fully trust my monitoring system on low-end, best to get a few other opinions on anything I say about the bottom.

I'm getting a little low-end buildup in the verse on the bass somewhere in the neighborhood of 100Hz, you might find the main resonance on the A there and give 'er a slight cut. Kick drum sounds a bit to clicky for my taste, but I like the snare. Samples or a real kit here?

Guitars sound pretty good to me overall. The opening guitar is the weakest link to me. Maybe double that part with a slightly different tone and pan the two a little. But nice job, this is a cool groove and a good recording.

I am totally digging the guitar tones on this thing. Yeah I hear some Beatles in there. I dont know if you are a Beatles fan or not but one of the things that I always admire in a musician is when they can take and influence and use it to their advantage. When a song comes out sounding original yet you can hear the influences but you are not ripping them off. Thats what I get out of this. I hope it makes sense, what I am saying. I hear influences in there but the song is totally your own. Great work!!!

Thanks guys!
I was thinking of putting my guitar on the shelf for awhile
and do some synth stuff - I guess not.

pglewis - I had to read the low-end build-up comment twice to understand it.
I don't know much of the technical jargon when it comes to mixing. I'll have to listen for it.
The drums are samples. Good tip on the opening too. I actually did that with the lead guitar towards the end.

fprod & Elvis - The influence was actually 73-74 King Crimson - funny thing is I recently read a review of King Crimsons Red LP were the song Fallen Angel was likened to The Beatles She's So Heavy.
That repeating arpeggio guitar thing at the end of that song is probably what you hear in mine.

Thanks again

My ears were messing with me yesterday. I was noticeing low-end buildup on everything. I finally put in a reference song and found out it's just me. I'm listening again now and I don't really hear it.

Good job on the drums, too.
