New Song - "It's OK"

The piano playing is lovely. I also like the bass sample used.

The whole thing is over compressed. YOu can actually hear it breathing in some places.

The voice and harmony are nice, but the recording sounds veiled maybe from the mic or converters used.

Funk on!
 
Excellent vocals, do get lost a bit at points i think. Jazz bit is cool! Could do with working on how it is incorporated into the song, if you could achieve a smooth transition both ways that could only improve it imo. like the bass, not too keen on that hi-hit though. Wish I could play the piano! Very nice.

sessionselect - I hear you, I know this is hardly "jazz", it's sort of like calling Chicken Balls chinese food.

erichenryus - Hmmm, I think you're feeling my pain on the XP. Love some of the sounds but it does have limitations. Acoustic piano would be incredible of course but it's in the basement, ah the limits of home recording.

Fed - Yep, exactly on the "It's OK" part, I didn't want this song to be depressing.

CyanJaguar - Yes, that's why I'm wondering about the mic I used. Seems like it's crappy, I fought with it for a long time before I got anything that sounded remotely OK

Nice song, strong & honest vocals. The only thing really holding you back are the canned instruments. The piano sound falls apart on chords big time and the bass is awful.

The jazzy bit is cool sounding, but at the end I thought, "oh yeah, I forgot I was listening to this song."

There's definate potential here. If you can't get better sounding instruments, perhaps you'll have to be a bit more creative with the sounds you generate.
