Glad that you liked the tune...thanks for listening.

Yes, - the solos could be brighter. The first solo is a strat w/ a little amp overdrive, - i could have miked the amp closer for more highs: the second solo is an SG w/ high amp gain, and miked about 12" from the amp, so I lost lots of highs. I find that close miking a high-gain guitar sounds crap. Also, the amp had the same eq for both guitars, - could have changed that, right!
Thanks for listening...

Thanks for listening..... I couldn't pull off those single guitar songs you record,- nothing to hide behind!

Thanks for listening, ...equipment/settings....
...just basic recording DAW -and old 333 celeron, an old 16 bit M-audio card, a Joemeek VC3Q pre and a 'SM57.
....the amp is a Boogie DC-3, 1st solo is a strat (new MIA) and the second is my old '74 Sg custom, (in need of a refret).
Same eq on the amp for both solos, except I pushed the high gain (8) for the second one. I miked the strat at about 6" and the SG at about 12". Like I mentioned to TMIX, as the gain/overdrive goes up, I try to mike further away. I'm no expert, but close miked high-gain sounds like a buzz saw on my gear.
I used the Sg for the rhythm guitars, (there are two), -each panned alittle off center, and when done right, you can get a real full sound stage with a nice natural chorus. This is not a great example! I added a long delay which (I think) blends the guitars, and gives me a sort of keyboard feel - sustaining the chord without the attack.
I have dialed back the compressor big time these days (setting 2-3) I have abused it in the past (through ignorance) and with a 16 bit sound card - you can't do that!
The bass is a newer MIA P-bass w/ both P-J p/u's recorded direct with a little higher compression, - now I just have to practice! ...and finally the drums are midi shite, off the card wavetable...enough said
Thanks for listening...

The tone at 1;10 is the strat middle position, - not my favorite position, but it works as a transition before I hit the bridge postion a little further on...
thanks for the ears!
Thanks all...this is a wrap!
