The drums sound cardboard-ish. It doesn't sound like there is much high end or low end, but a lot mids on the drums. I don't know what they sounded like before, but IMO they still need more work. The song itself, is nice though. Keep at it, I think with some eq or maybe a rerecording you can fix it. Good luck.

The drums sound very squashed and muffled. But the guitars sound a bit muffled as well. Makes me wonder--what's your monitoring setup? Maybe you're not hearing the mix as accurately as you need to?

I'm mixing with a decent pair of Audio Technica headphones. It's all I have right now unfortunatly. I hear what you're saying though. I just did a new song and the difference is pretty big between the two. Learning experience. :) I think I'm still having trouble getting more low end into the drums, but I'm using a pair of CAD mics I got on sale as overheads. I guess there's only so much EQing I can do until I get larger diaphram overheads. I don't want to rely on the cheapy mics on each drum cause they're pretty bad sounding. The overheads with a kick and snare are the best I can do so far.

This is the new song. Maybe you can compare them.
