I'm looking forward to the new stuff then.... sounds like fun!!!
(Wish I lived in the Detroit area... I'd love to come by and offer to play on a track or 2... just for fun...)

I was on your site when you replied.... you've got some good stuff up there.
Is Kristal your wife??

Keep up the great work, and great attitude!

Yep. She is my wife. oddly enuff I was working with another artist to get his stuff out and he punked out after.... we laid 12 tracks.. Then Kristal and I decided it was time for her to do her Solo project. She had sung behind everyone else....So it's her turn. Adn we are learning a lot real fast. She lost 50 gigs this year becasue of an idiotic booking agent. Thankfully she was able to rebook these gigs for next year (mostly festivals) Very dissappointing. Too much money lost. LOL

But hey, you live and you learn.

And here is my wife. What does you living in Cali mean.... We could work that out :)

What software do yu use? we did stuff by emailing files to guys in Nashville to get a country track done. that and the fone :)

Hey Giles,

Nice tune, musically i thought of Salvador.... I like the attitude in the song, and the mix is right there.

I'm at work using phones now but I definitely want to take a listen in the studio when I get home tonite.

Keep it up!

"Grab a bible and put your face in it"....great line!

Cool. Yeah God worked those lyrics out. How can you get to know the father if you ONLY listen to a preacher. Preachers make mistakes, but the Holy Spirit Never DOES!!!! Daddy told us if we abide in him (his word.) He would abide in us.

Peace.

BTW I love your words. Worship is a lifestyle not a 30 minute hit and run. One thing I notice in a lot of churches I have visited over the past year that they have GREAT musicianship and singing ability but ZERO anointing.

I might get screamed on for being candid, but I am like Paul, go ahead and stone me God has me covered.

How can you effectively minister the Gospel in song if you don't live it day by day. You cant. (and no one is saying be perfect, but committed) I'd rather be a bench warmer than an unanointed ineffective Worship leader or musician.

Selling out is more than just toting a bible, it is knowing what's in it and using it effectively to bless others, Not condemn. There are times for correction, but just as the Holy Spirit corrects us sometimes firm some times gently, we should likewise do the same.

And as worship leaders AND ministers we should come to the church building already tanked up with the Holy Spirit oozing out our pores.

I totally agree with you....I know of a very well known minister who says the Worship leader doesn't have to be the best musician available..but they do have to be annointed.

I've really enjoyed chatting with you and listening to you and your wife's music..let's keep in touch..

Blessings!

Now that is my sticking point... I believe that everything for God should be done in excellence. If the world can have great musicians that are anointed so can and should the church body. that is the bad compromise. I want anointing so I will grab a guy that is just ok. That is ridiculous. We should all be the BEST at what we do and when we submit ourselves to God's Service that EXCELLENCE should shine through.

Just to establish my point a little clearer, Why can't the guy be both the baddest cat and anointed. Those are the guys I hang out with. My goal in life is to pull what's in you out of you. So you can be the best.

I was a church sound engineer and left the church to tour with all the secular groups so I could become better and bring the skills back to the church. I toured for 7 years. it was cool and I learned a lot. Now I am back home ready to destroy the works of the enemy and not sound like your typical church band/Sound guy :)

And for the Saints who thumb their noses at us'n who done went out to the world, remember this. Jesus said that the children of Darkness are wiser than the children of Light.

THEY TAKE CARE of you. So why can't the church. I didnt say be money grubbing, but The Bible says a workman is worthy of his reward. Stop pimping Gods people. That is one MAJOR thing I saw that drives them out of the church into the world.

I had a mandate to learn what they know cuz them popular gospel groups I toured with were sloppy and unprofessional. Now I am able to bring back and give back to strenghthen the church in what I perceive as a very weak area. Sound and worship. :)

I am very big on Accuracy in the word. so let me quote it like it is written in the KJV and a couple of other translations.....

(KJV) Luke 16:8 *And the lord commended the unjust steward, because he had done wisely: for the children of this world are in their generation wiser than the children of light.
This steward was commended for his Wise dealing in financial matters. that crosses over into all aspects of life.

here is how it reads in the English Standard Version. i think this really breaks it down...

For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.

I am sorry I gotta put up the whole story..... ESV....

The Parable of the Dishonest Manager

Jesus also said to the disciples, "There was a rich man who had a manager, and charges were brought to him that this man was wasting his possessions. And he called him and said to him, 'What is this that I hear about you? Turn in the account of your management, for you can no longer be manager. And the manager said to himself, 'What shall I do, since my master is taking the management away from me? I am not strong enough to dig, and I am ashamed to beg. I have decided what to do, so that when I am removed from management, people may receive me into their houses.'

So, summoning his master's debtors one by one, he said to the first, 'How much do you owe my master?' 6 He said, 'A hundred measures of oil.' He said to him, 'Take your bill, and sit down quickly and write fifty. Then he said to another, 'And how much do you owe?' He said, 'A hundred measures of wheat.' He said to him, 'Take your bill, and write eighty. The master commended the dishonest manager for his shrewdness. For the sons of this world are more shrewd in dealing with their own generation than the sons of light.

And I tell you, make friends for yourselves by means of unrighteous wealth, so that when it (the wealth) fails they may receive you into the eternal dwelling.

"One who is faithful in a very little is also faithful in much, and one who is dishonest in a very little is also dishonest in much. If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches? And if you have not been faithful in that which is another's, who will give you that which is your own? No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money."

For that latter half, if I have an anointed guy who does not hone his craft, how can he grow. HE CAN't and neither will the local church Body as long as they keep in position. Better to sit him down and train him up. Than to let him flounder around with an anointing but no skill.

That is loving your brother. Jesus was a man of excellence not just OK.

Loved the song!!!

I do hear a bit of clipping also, although on the speakers I'm listening on, I'm missing some low end. Could be that the low end is there and compressed a bit too much?

As far as the song style, I wouldn't make the MJ connection. I love the 'New Soul' movement in R&B right now, and this fits in very well. More of a Adriana Evans/Jill Scott type of feel. But it stands on it's own. I dig your wife's voice; the confidence of the new soul movement from a female point-of-view is what it's all about.

Personally, I would've done without the record scratch. It was done a bit too much by Erykah Badu and Lauryn Hill. But it's a minor complaint.

Sweet!

Thnaks. I wonder if it is the mp3 conversion. I did press this one up to .0 db instead of my more normal -.3db which I know in some things will jack with the convertors. I might lower the level .3db and see if it is still clipping.

Again thanks for the compliment. bass wasnt compressed much. LOL Might be them headphones. I Love low end too much. LOL
