Thanks for the encouragement... working on my mixing as I use headphones as opposed to a nice pair of monitors. I can't believe what can be accomplished with a nice mic and garageband these days. My last home studio attempts were with a Tascam 8-track recorder on cassette (of all things) and a couple sm57's. Sounded pretty brutal -- then again I didn't really know what I was doing back then. And I only "kinda" do now.. lol.
Sounds really nice. How did you record the acoustic? Are you playing that bass drum? I liked the vocals, quite mellow. Nice instruments and a good mix. Hats off to that
Certainly captures the feel and has almost all the elements of the original. Can't think of anything wrong with it. Performed to a T, recorded well, mixed well.
Oh -- I just recorded the acoustic with setup below. Rode mic (pretty close up) and the Martin acoustic. I was just listening to a recording I did with a small diaphram oktava and a cheapo Yamaha acoustic and it sounded horrible. I've learned that the right equipment does make a difference -- of course, that's different for everybody. But my current setup really suits my needs (and my budget). I recommend it!
