New setup

Ok 1st I'd like to say this track is just for testing purposes & by. no means is it polished. I just did this to test out my new setup. I have a mixer this time with an audio interface pushing my sound using a very very cheap radio shack optimus dynamic mic. Turns out the results are horrid! I don't know if it's the mic pushing so much hiss into my sound or the mic pre on my mixer? I'm going to get a new mic here friday so hopefully that will solve my problem. Imma go get me a better dynamic mic for vocals. I just hope it's not my mixer that is the problem, but i think it's this cheap ass mic thats bringing all this hiss and handling signal. Well Idid this track to see if maybe someone could listen & tell me if it's the mic bc i did the track where i turned the mic switch off in between verses so you could tell.

Maybe nothing is wrong & I'm just not use to spittin through a dynamic?
I had to speak soft into the mic bc it had big pops if i got loud. Def. need a new mic i think?
 
Need a new mic, for sure.

What type of interface/Sound Card do you have? You could be picking up some noise there as well.
 
Ya this is pretty bad. and its prolly the the mic. But i think you tried to record with the speakers down low instead of using headphones. the track sounds doubled, then at 1:33 you shut the mic for a few and it cleans up and doubles againg just before u rap again.

U gotta work out afew kinks in your flow too
 
I'm using an m-audio Quattro with an yamaha mixer. I don't think it's the interface. I believe it might be this shitty mic pushing all this crappy hisising signal into my mix. Also another thing i wanted to ask do Ihave to use asio in order to record my vocals seperately with me still being able to hear the beat while i'm spittin? Seems I can't do that with wdm drivers in audition. It only lets me record stereo. I wanna be able to record my vocals solo but still be able to hear my beat going then transfer it stereo you get what I'm asking?
