New riff

so i wrote a new riff and decided to make a song outta it....rocked the single coil strat through the JCM2000, and used the G&L L2000 through the sansamp bassdriver DI. i also decided to use the stupid built in synth in my soundcard to add random sounds, and then found a siren to use lol....



the idea behind the beginning and the same part in the middle is like...idk i was fiddling around one day, and that riff kinda reminded me of like sneaking around in a jungle, ala Metal Gear Solid 3 style....if anyone knows what i'm talking about you'll probably understand my thought process here lol....so idk, tell me what you think. put it together in like a couple of hours....during which one o them, the power just WENT OUT and i had NOTHING saved....thank god adobe audition has a built in backup recovery lol or i'd probably have murdered things today! =)
 
Excellent - thank god for auto backup!!!!! That cheezy siren actually sounds really good! I'll bet some of the older guys here will remember that wah pedal that had a built in siren (70's).....

Never used one, but I remember seeing it in someone's pedal board once... :rolleyes:

I liked the tone and it's a nice riff, but I kept hoping for vocals. It's hard to listen all the way thourgh a song that's only a vocal bed without the vocals.

No nits on the mix otherwise.
 
thanks guys! haha the siren is actually the background siren for the goalhorn of my fav hockey team, the buffalo sabres lol....i just took a portion of it where it escalates, then at it's peak reversed it to get it to come back down.....sorry about the no vocs, i can NOT sing whatsoever hahaha. and that pedal looks quite interesting ;)
 
I like the riff. guitar sounds great. I have the same "I can't sing" issue with all my songs, so they are all instrumental.

the drums are screaming "I was recorded in a bedroom," but they don't sound too bad.
 
Im listening on PC speakers so I cant comment on the mix very much....what I hear sounds great....in my head....I can hear Zack De La Rocha singing....
 
hahahahaha, ahhhh my rage ripoffs ;) lol it's bad, i'm somewhat stuck in a rutt when it comes to writing lateley lol. thanks though guys =D, oh and the drums were recorded in a basement ;)
