Sorry about the weird noise at the beginning...it's the sh*tty CD-ROM on my internet PC...
This track is all me, all in the last 4 hours...used SONAR 3.1.1 (been drinking warsteiner all night-->very experimental and very UNFINISHED!!!! I may try to feed it to busticles!) Sorry about the NIN-like ending part!

the BEAT- created in the REASON 2.5 demo (20 mins per session..=...equals alot of creative note-taking)..
--->sent out EMU 1820 D/A
--->into neutrik patchbay
--->into TASCAM portastudio 424 with hot levels (roughly +10, running at 40ips or so
----> back into the Behringer ADA800 line-in (clocked to me EMU 1820 Mvia ADAT optical)
---> plug-ins include a 80hz and 4khz boost w/ Wavearts trackplug

the GUITARS- custom strats (seymour duncan pickups, 250k pots) through BOSSs Gt-33 pedal efx--->FMR RNP hi-z in---> plugs include Lexicon Pantheon (on GTR buss)...

the VOX- me whispering VERY EVENLY--->SP B3(w/ filter in, in cardioid) i'm way off axis to avoid using a de-esser, etc.
---->ART TPSII in valve setting with TONS of gain--->EMU 1820M A/D
--->plugs include sonalksis SV-315 compressor (12 db GR w/ 1ms attack time) and Lexicon Pantheon..

Your Song

I got a Smashing Pumpkins Ava Adore...kinda feeling with the beat. Definately love the tempo and the programming is good. The keys riff is brilliant and the verb on it is haunting. I am a sucker for Whispered vox and I think that you have a COOL voice. Not everyone can pull off being cool as fuck with whisper vocals and you did. Kinda a bit Linkin Park. definately not a cutdown. But i kinda felt like your vocals sounded almost like a hybrid of the two singers in Linkin Park. I use reason 2.5. I actually bought it. YAY FOR ME! It was my first soft synth experience and a good one. The day that it clicked and I understood that i could do ANYTHING with it, my life as a songwriter changed. I was really suprised at how good your vocals sounded. However I have one little gripe that I could fix in like 30 seconds with some plugins or my outboard meek strips. The hit hat sound is harsh. It has an shrill for my ear sound. The track as a whole could afford some multiband compression. Maybe a trip through a C4 or heck, just a de-esser. If you wanted to REALLY blow away some people. Add a busy bassline with no warning about 2/3 of the way through the song. Maybe some more backing tracks with a telephone effect or distortion. GREAT TRACK!

thanks for input! I added some more vox and eventually will add some bass too. I agree that the hat came out harsh. I kind of overcompensated, as I originally thought the hat would come out too quiet. I'll post an updated version soon. peace
BTW- its ccol that u like my voice. Like many people, I am kind of skeptical and super sensitive about my voice. :)

with vox now...

here be a more finished version of that same track. Added verse vox, and slight remixing....enjoy
