hey guys i know this question was done 10000 times but i really don`t want to spend money on something that will not work the way i want... I need some cheap but good "POWERED STUDIO MONITORS...under 400 $ or around that (PAIR) that can handle BASS .. i`ll be mixing and mastering TRANCE/DANCE/CLUB music so i really need that real BASS sound..some people tell me that EVENT 20/20 Bass are THE THING to go for yeah I WISH I COULD but thet cost 750$ and i don`t have that much... this will be my first SPEAKERS and they don`t have to be something over 1000$ i just want to get a good quality MIX , now I work on cheap COMPUTER SPEAKERS, :o).. what about ALESIS active one MK2, or EVENT TR5, TR8 , Behringer TRUTH(those i read bad reviews) help me PLEASE..... I need it for TRANCE music so the bass is very IMPORTANT...

If you are willing to spend a little more than I would go for the Event PS5's. They are about $459.00 pair.

Yorkville YSM1p are probably better monitors overall. They are about $420-$430. But for Dance the PS5 probably have a bit more bass.

Out of the ones you suggested the Truths would probably the best bet for dance/trance music as they have lots of bass. But they are not that good overall.

Thanks for help I was also thinking about the Events ps5's, you are another person telling me to get them..Thanks i`ll probably go with those....

I auditioned the PS-5s when I bought mine and I thought they were a really nice monitor for the price. However, I didn't think they really gave me a good sense of how the lower bass sounded. I know their specs say they go down to 52 Hz +/- 3 dB, but I personally got a better picture of the lower bass from the JBL LSR25P's I bought, which according to the specs don't even go that low (something like 70 Hz, but I don't remember +/- what).

I looked at several monitors in your price range and a little above and relatively weak low bass seemed to be a common trait. Based on what I heard it seemed to me like you'll probably want/need to add a powered sub in the future. YMMV.

But like I said, I thought the PS-5s seemed to be a nice monitor for the price.

Early this year,Prior to purchasing my Yorkvilles monitors, I did some extensive "STUDIO MONITOR" research for over 6 months. I have heard many of the professional Monitors that are popular.

Having worked in professional Studios as a keyboardist, in my opinion the YSM1p's are one of the best I have ever heard. Do not ! I repeat Do not! let the size of the Woofer fool you, these monitors have Range and Punch!

They will be an asset to any musican's Home Studio. There are other good quality sounding monitors available for purchase, however the YSM1p's are certainly in a monitor Class all by themselves.

The YSM1p's can't be puchased just anywhere. Yorkville is very selective about the retail stores that represent their awesome product. Yorkville doesn't spend a large amount of their budget on Marketing, they spend a large amount in Research & Development.*smile* The Techology of their speaker design is simple , Accurate, responsive, clear and powerful! You will love the sound of the Yorkvilles !

Yeah, I had to wait on my pair of YSM1P's because they weren't made yet. Evidently Yorkville does a run on these monitors at certain times of the year. Or maybe once a year, I'm not really sure. After they were made, I then had to wait for them to be shipped to me from Toronto, Canada where they are made. It was worth it though, I love em.
