New Power Speakers

Steve Steve relax your the one who made it personal when you in response to my comments about thin sound and full sound in respect to the audience hearing the reproduction of an artist through a PA... not seeing the ability of the artist.
Then go on to "me" this and "me" that and "my" butt is full of everyone's noses and not even address the facts about audio that I was taking about.
Not with the systems that I use, that was just an example, I was talking systems in general - no conversation just "don't presume that your way is the only way" or "I absolutely know at least as much about sound as you do, probably more".
Even Jim chimed in on the two aspects of a live show to the human sensory perception with... he thought his sound was a bit thin and (looks) presentation is everything.

This isn't even personal your ego spilled out of this chat room before the real person did -thinking this was going to be an other nose in your butt.

Now here's a little something you should try ....go a week no a day with out saying "I" or any reference to yourself in any sentence.. you couldn't do it. And if you did it would teach you a lot and make you a better person/performer.

And now its "ME" saxophone.. I'm going to end here cause the jack sh*t I do know about you is that jack left town leaving you full of whats left.

Do you hear that! that me forgetting about you in less than a second.

X O

Dude, it's ok to be wrong. Try it sometime. Jim, and the music he is performing has no need whatsoever of a sub. Stop tyring to answer a question that nobody asked.

And you couldn't conceivably be more wrong concerning your characterization of the Lt. Indeed, you come across considerably more boorish in this exchange.

Ehmmm!
What's a sub? :)
It's all okay by me (except for the personal stuff)
I'm quite often guilty myself of pushing the gear that I know and like when maybe it doesn't really suit the other person's wants/needs.
Steve managed to sway me from buying what would be the wrong gear at this time by paying attention to what I do. Also made me take a second look at my passive speakers. It would be a mistake to replace them.
I got a lot of help out of this thread.
Thank You!

Well Steve:
Just so as you know I'm listening. I had a rethink about getting a table top mixer. I love the sliding faders and layout but there are good reasons for keeping those in a studio. Just not practical for gigs.
Anyway, I got this.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=220530113695 Behringer PMP1280S.
I was going to get the 980S but for just a few dollars more I thought "What the hey!". I still had enough left over for a couple of cables.
I'll get some new speakers in a few months.

I have some friends with that and it does sound pretty good.
Also, despite it being Behringer, it's gigged without problems for about a year and a half so far.
They do weekends pretty regularly and haven't reported any issues at all so I think you're in good shape.

On the other issue ..... I'll address it once and then never again.

I really like how someone can come to a complete characterization of me as a person and musician based entirely on the fact that I disagreed with them about what gear is required for my own gigs where I often play by myself! That really is all I did until he went personal based on that alone. I said nothing else ........ just that I didn't have a need for the subs and explained why ....... that's really all.

hahaha

THAT'S what I objected to ..... I was polite and complimented the guy on his rig, said it was a good one but not everyone needed that and then explained why I personally don't have a need for the subs.
Go back and read the post .... that's all I did .... dared to disagree about what I need and he comes back with a review on me as a person and a player.

I gave the guy no reason to insult me or get personal and I wasn't rude until he went personal for absolutely no reason whatsoever. I didn't brag on myself or criticize him in any way until he insulted me.
As I said before ...... that Mackie rig he has is a GREAT small portable PA.
Some friends over in Port Orange have one and it sounds great and is fairly portable ...... anyone looking for a full range system should look at it.
I have no need for it which makes me worse than Hitler but for you guys that don't want to be evil ...... go, go get one now!

:D:D:D:D

If moresound wants to get off on a different foot we can and I would like that so let's see how it goes because it's not uncommon on the 'net to have misunderstandings initially that have to be reconsidered. I'm not gonna base my entire opinion of someone by one interaction.
Hope you have a great New Year moresound .....

hell, I hope all you 'tards have a great New Year!
:):)
