Hi there!
well, I'm finally on the verge of putting together a new PC DAW.
Now, I must preface by letting you guys/gals know that I am not a novice nor a seasoned pro, I am somewhere in the middle when it comes to understanding PCs and their relationship to audio. So, some of the terminolgy may be used incorrectly due to lack of clear understanding of how all this hit works...
ANYWAY!
A friend of mine gave me some preliminary direction. So I have tentativly decided on the following:
mobo: MSI k7n2g-l nvidia
processor: AMD Athlon XP 2100+1.73 ghz
256mg DDR RAM
Western Dig 7200 rpm IDE HD
Enermax Case w/ ATX power supply
Chipset:? What is this? how do I choose the right one for what I use?
I am also upgrading my sound card. I have really been eyeballing the MOTU 2408 MKII[used]. But as my research has become a bit more intensive, I find that many PC users do not seem very happy w/ MOTU. So I am at a bit of a loss, should I save more $$ and buy an Echo Layla or even an RME Multiface?
I will be using Samplitu 6 and would like to have midi capability and the eventual ability to use softsynths and the Gigapiano, if that makes any difference.
