Hi-

I'm ready for a beating!!! I just posted a song to MP3.com called "Zebra Noise". http://www.mp3.com/feeler Check it out if you have time and let me know what you think. It's a pretty rough mix and I really wasn't ready for what MP3 encoding would do to it. All comments (good or bad) welcome!

Thanks,

Hey Pavement,

That was cool, had a very spacey feel to it, good mood music. At first the canned drums put me off, but then I actually started liking them, they fit the song.

Very nice voice, and song. Mix sounds good, nice balance.

no beating necessary....drum sound could be improved on, kinda choppy/abrupt.....vocals could come up just a bit, it's a nice song........was that guitar sound just done direct, or was it a synth blended thing?....whatever it was, it was a sound that grew on me........gibs

Thanks for taking the time to listen, GT. I really appreciate your comments!!

gibs-

Thanks for listening & your comments too! Yeah, the drums were kind of tough to mix... there is actually two layers of drums - electronic and acoustic. I put a reverse gate on the acoustic drums to try and keep a "electronic feel" to them, so that is why they sound so choppy. I may back that effect off a little. You're also right about the vocals... I always tend to mix them a little soft. I got the guitar sounds through the Johnson J-Station and then through a dbx 386 preamp before the multi-track.
