New Monitors

I have read a lot about all three of these monitors on my list, but one is discontinued and older so I wanted to see how they compared to the new models I'm considering.

I can get a set of M audio BX8 off Craigslist for $250ish.
KRK rockit 8 $500 amazon
KRK rockit 6 $400 amazon

I have an old pair of Maudio SP-5B and want to upgrade mostly because the bass response is not there, and I'd rather not get a sub for it. I'm leaning toward the KRK rockit 8 because they're bigger and I don't mind the extra $100 if they are better than the 6". The BX8's are appealing because I have used maudio for years and know the sound and they are cheaper.

So any thoughts on how those bigger speakers compare? And would these sets be upgrades from the SP-5B I have now?

I have a pair of KRK Rokit 5's and I love them. The 5's are a bit misleading in the bottom end though, but everything else is bang on. The 8's should be great.

OK, thanks. I'm leaning toward the KRK 8" now. Lots of good reviews, and the yellow and black look great. I want to go listen and test them at a local shop, but I'm not sure what to be listening for.
