I just read the news on the rec.audio.pro newsgroup posted by Stephen Paul himself:

A Stephen Paul Audio microphone (currently code named Godzilla) is due for release in 12-18 months. And I got the obvious feeling more will be coming after that one too.

From all I've read posted by Stephen over the past few months, I suspect this "Godzilla" could go for at least $10kUS; and maybe all the way up to 16!

Better start saving guys!

Also, I forgot to mention that Stephen also said that his modifications services will be extremely limited after this release.

So you might also want to save for and do that Stephen Paul modification on you've been dreaming about for years, too.

Did someone say new mic... AKG has a new large condensor mic. It is called the C2000B and it looks like a strip down version of the C4000B, having one pattern. I am sure it is a great sounding mic.

You know, I saw someone post something about that somewhere on the net, but I ignored it thinking it was a typo (2 instead of 4). I'll have to go check it out.

Oh. And why would anyone even look at any other mics? What's the matter? You can't afford the Godzilla?

Oh if I could ever convince myself to buy that mic instead of a new car, I'd know for sure I have a big problem.

I sure hope I'm far wrong about the price.

I wish!!! I wish!!! I wish!!!

Ok.

I won't say anything else but it looks as though I am wrong; my guess was rather low...

about the AKG C2000B.....saw it at mars music. It was only w/ a bundle (headphones too) for 289.99. Don know how much for just the mic.

Does anyone know anything about the AKG C3000B. It looks to me like a cheaper version of the 414 (at least that's what I'm hoping).

I've never owned a mic that would be really proper for recording acoustic guitar as 414's and such are just way out of my price range. This 3000 series list for $520 and a local store has been running it on sale for $329.

So...have any of you had any experience with this particular mic? It isn't omni-directional unfortunately, but the price is sure right. (Besides, I've used the old trick of taping one side of the mic for years to increase it's sensitivity).

Thanks
