New mic and pre day

My friend picked up an AKG C414 XLS last week and an ISA 2 this afternoon. Great sounding and mixes with no eq just a touch of comp via CA2A. Really notice the brightness/harshness in his old NT2A now. It's a good mic but the C414 is a great mic and the pre gives it some nice harmonic overtones.... Makes you want to rerecord everything again...:)

Nice mic. Have recorded with a couple before on drums, weirdly enough. Got some cool sounds out of a simple two mic setup with them.
 
Got the new and the old versions of the 414. A great microphone when it fits the task. :thumbs up:
 
very good choice in preamp, I want the ISA Two myself one day, love my ISA One but at the time there was no stereo version when I bought it....414 is a great choice of mic as well. I just wish it had spdif and ADAT outputs, like the ISA One, then it would be perfection.
