Never Sober(MP3)

Above is the link to the MP3. I think the title of the song is pretty self explanitory. It's a pretty good driving metal song. It's been one on the backburner due to time constraints but I finally got time to finish it up today.

I've encoded it in 256kbps so it is pretty dang close to the wav file and should burn well to a disc. I'm pretty much going to just give away the tunes I write and record under the name Straight Jacket Sunday. I'd rather have people listening to the songs and enjoying them more than anything else.

If you enjoy the stuff I write feel free to add me to your myspace. I'm using myspace now instead of soundclick for promotion and such. The downloads for the tunes and albums will be available at my site once it's done. I'll also direct link them at the myspace page.

Anyway, here is the link to my myspace page: Straight Jacket Sunday on mySpace.

I'm working on the album which is coming along slowly but surely. I also sing for a local rock band so that eats up a good amount of time. Man, between work and the everyday life stuff it is tough getting anything done. And to top it all off, I'm going to buy an over priced house and have a big ol' mortgage. Anyway, let me know what you think of this one.

Nice and heavy....I like that. The music is killer...it is nice and driving. If you are going to work on this more, you might bring the vocals up in the mix some. These seem a bit hidden in comparison to some of your other tunes. I enjoy your upfront vocal delivery. The music is great though...I like it alot. Nice job man...

I just didn't want the vocals to be too loud. It's funny, because you would think I would have it loud because I love the sound of my own voice :)

LOL... Seriously though, things have been balls to the walls so I havn't had too much time to listen and leave feedback to others. It's a shame because I always used to love doing it. I've enjoyed conversing with the various home recorders around these parts. Thanks for the listen man.

How did you do the drums bass and guitar in this?

Ben

This is freaking cool :D
It's metal week on the board I guess. And it's all kicking ass!
Nice job.

Metal does seem to be a popular style now. Espeically around the home recording area.

I used Trilogy for Bass and used the Line 6 gear box plug in for amp emu.

For drums I use DFHS and have Jamstix doing the fills and such on this one.

Question for ya. Can you use these distortion plugs, like gear box on an already distorted signal or does it pretty much have to be a clean signal going in? Stupid question I know but I've never used any.

Yeah! metal up your A$$!! :D

Really like it vocals very Sacred Reich ( a very good thing!!)

I guess you could use it on an already distored guitar signal, I'm not sure how good the results would be though. It may just become fuzz at some point.

I went and took a look. Ya I can see it has it's own interface. You just monitor real time while you record I assume. Well it must work well. Has a very nice sound :)

Thanks

Just wanted to say, I am still jamming out to this song! :D
