My buddy picked up a Euphonic audio head as new practice amp. He wanted to see how it would sound tracked with his Roscoe 6 string fretless. We got together yesterday and put together this song. Its a rough pre-production demo but I was curious for some feedback. Guitars are direct (too lazy to mic an amp yesterday) and the drums are programmed with little intentions of sounding "REAL" lol. Check it out

Sounds pretty cool to me...I like the progression. That bass sounds pretty cool. While the drums do sound a bit thin compared to what you normally have, I think the rhythm fits well. Fatten the drums up a bit, and keep em... :D

The guitar and bass are cool though...nice sounds.

It dosent sound finished to me at all.
Lots of cleaning, and eq'ing to do.
It's good music that needs it's day at the polishing desk.

It's already cool; I'm sure it'll sound amazing when you're done.

By the by...even though an instrumental metal piece is not usually the first thing I grab off the shelf when I'm looking for something to listen to, your tunes just make me listen. How fucking long did it take to program those drums?

Dogman-thanks for listening. The drums were straight out of some module my bass player owns. We intend on recording this again with our real drummer so we didn't put a lot of time into the drum "sound".

Finster- Thanks for the listen. I was posting more for a songwriting perspective, I have not put much effort into the mix other than trying to balance levels. Any particular nits?

Chris- they took a few hours to put together. Thanks for listening

Sounds cool!

Some of the underlaying guitar runs at the begining are a little to buried for me. Poss. a bit of eq could do it.

There is no problem hearing the bass or what it's doing but its a bit too nasaly for may taste. I'm a fan accenting a spot in the lower mids to get a tight bass with plenty of notation, but you may want to eq it so it has a bit broader frequency represntation perhaps a bit if a narrow bottom lift & maybe a little higher up.

Just my personal nit's ;)

Cool stuff!

it sounds rough of course, but you said yourself "it's a rough pre-production demo", so the only criticism i really have is the bass...it just sounds really gay to me

the song itself is pretty damned sick, though - i'd definitely like to hear the final version of it

I have no nits.
Just produce the mix.

EDIT>>>I hate the fretless, but im sure thats an opinion thing so whatever.

Don't know how I missed this, but it's great. Excellent music!

And holy shit - are my highly polished skills of deduction correct in that you are now playing guitar for Canvas Solaris? I just assembled this bit of info during a convoluted journey across myspaceland......

I am a huge fan!

<bows in admiration>

I'm not worthy!

I like it.. sounds a little muddy and could use a little sheen, buts its a good tune and a great performance.

Hi

I like the song. I agree with the others that this needs polishing but it's a good start. Good inter-action between the guitars, the bass and the drum.

Good work.

/Jack Real.
