Hello all -

I just rcvd a Tascam M312B that I scored on eBay. I'd been wanting an older (but still affordable) mixer to add to my largely digital rig, and bought this one based in part on some of the good things read here. So far, so good - the right channel of the headphone amp is shot, but all the channel strips seem to be working properly. I haven't tested all the sends/returns yet, but I'm hopeful.

I'm ordering the Caig products recommended here to clean up the electronics, there's quite a bit of tape residue on the front panel that needs dealt with. Any recommendation on what to remove the goo with that won't damage the guts if it drips down in?

Other than that, I need to check with Tascam about a manual, a white channel fader cap, and a few knobs (one orange, one blue, two green). If anyone has any of these spares, I'd be interested in giving you a few bucks for them.

Anyways, this seems like a great board, and I look forward to hanging out.

Cheers,
P

There's a product called "Goo-Gone" which seems to work pretty decently at removing the remnants and residue of adhesives. WD-40 also has a bit of cleaning power in this regard also but will leave more of an oily residue.

As for the headphones not working on one side, try cleaning the jack with Deox-it and also try a light tap with your knuckles just above the headphone volume knob and assign switch matrix buttons on the top panel...there might be an intermittent connection internally that the tap can temporarily fix!

Cheers! :)
