I got a chance to records this Mean Town gig with my ADATs. This was at a tiny little sports bar.

Enjoy!

I like the recording overall, but I thought the drums detracted from the sound lending a less-than-crisp groove to the rhythm section. More performance than recording I think. I A/Bed it against a duo I recorded playing the same song in a small bar in Newport Beach with NO drummer.

Pretty intense performance...
I dug the vox and especially the harp...

Hard to control some of this stuff when you are live in front of a crowd though...
Bass is way too hot ...there is a ton of disonance but....hey...
It's live man...ya did a good job...I sorta like the stick rim pop from the drummer at the beginning of the guit lead...sounds cool man..these guys got the groove goin' on ....ya know?
Take it easy,
Joe

Hey, I liked this recording. I thought you captured the performance really well. The mix is cool too--good balance between all the instruments and the vocal. I feel like I am there listening. No tricks, just an honest representation of what was happening. And yeah, the band is quite fine. All in all, an excellent live recording, I think. Great job. I mean that.

1st off, you get props for recording to my beloved format,ADAT's!!

Mannnn, ya'll was smokin'!!!! I felt that REAL HARD!! This flowed
with pure fire and dazz!! PLUS, the recording translated most exceptionally what I could only imagine if I was there chillin' in person watchin' and listening, feet stompin and head rockin' to this
performance!!

2 words.....

"ON POINT"!!!!

( Then peeps wanna know why I post far and few between!!! One hear's jammies like this and become intimidated!!!:p )

Thanks folks,

Lets hope I can do a better job at the 2nd East Coast Jam Fest!

Here is another track from the same gig:

damn...and for all that don't know that's an old Johnny Winter cover version out to be shot...with the exception of the solo...to some degree. shoot, I gotta get my old winter albums out....just happen to have them all, btw....Nice cover, btw.
