Recording Modus Operandi
I'm not a drummer but just got a kit from GC. It's a 6 piece Gretsch 825pt catelina birch set with evans heads on it. Are they as good as the gretsch heads that were probably stock on them? I got the Mastersound 14" HH with a 16" crash and a 21" sweet ride(all Zildjian), a Ludwig accent cymbal stand and some standard DW hardware. Cost almost $1300. I know it's too late to ask but this was impulsive  How did I do?

Why do I feel like I just lost two neighbors?

you did well. Evans are way better than the original gretsch heads.

Not really because I'm not sure what the value is. Hey, I can tell by the pedal that it will dent the batter head. Is that ok or should I pad it and if so how?

I don't know much about that particular kit, but it looks pretty good, and with the cymbals and hardware included, that sounds like a good price for it all.

You have pretty expensive impulses, but now that you have bought your first kit, it'll only get worse. And if you ONLY loose 2 neighbors, then I'd say your doing pretty good!!! :D

damn straight, I live somewhere remote & there's very little in the way of neighbours in so far they're far enough away not to be bothered by the noise, UNLESS I crank up the PA :D

all my experiences with gretsch have been good ones though

buyers remorse?
I know I immediately denied this when I woke up this morning but after thinking about it, the denial kinda defines the buyer's remorse, doh! Good call.

Hey y'all, thanks for all the responses. :)

I used to get buyer's remorse alot. It's alot easier to deal with when you buy used stuff and can get most of your money back if really needed.

Those drums do look pretty sweet, hope you enjoy them.
