new invention-3 years in the making!

Hi All: I have been working on getting a stick to hit a cymbal instead of just the 2 high hat cymbals hitting each other for my cymbal sound in the 1 man band set up. The high hat cymbals needed a lot of eq'ing to get them to sound somewhat like a stick hitting a cymbal, and never has sounded right to me. Today old brother duck tape came to me and I figured it out. Here are my first two songs with a real drumstick hitting a small ride cymbal, sitting on the high hat stand. There is also is a brush on the beater that hits the snare. Walter

FYI: For those that don't know, I do all this live. There is no overdubbing and I make up all the words and music as I go along-no idea what is going to come out.

I play all of the parts on my songs but I sure can't do them all at once like you can Walter! You sure have a lot of nice full bottom end on the guitar, are you using an amp with a 15" speaker?
You've sure got an amazing sound happening.

royleking: thanks and I do it all live an do make it all up as I go along. I am addicted to this approach- the unknown.

Anfontan: Thanks for listening. I admire people that make an album playing all the instruments. I have dabbled in overdubbing, but it just doesn't hold my interest. It feels like I am an intruder on the song, so I stick to it all live. I spent almost 30 years of my life in clubs, so that live sound is kind of stuck in me I guess. I use a bone stock MIK tokai copy of a 335 on the bridge pu or a funky old no name kay like guitar that plays great, or a 1938 kalamazoo with a dearmond pu. It goes through a thd hotplate and into a deluxe reverb reissue amp. I add plate reverb with the UA plate reverb. the thd hotplate is great. My guitar volume is just at a whisper volume. I play everything real quiet. Walter

this is me with louisiana red circa 1982 in belguim. Red loves this guitar. I had a guy in belguim set it up with good tuners and a custom bridge.
