Interesting stuff. I would not know how to classify this myself. Just Rock to me. I like the sounds though man. Has kind of a Latin flavor to some of it, and some classic rock stuff happening also. Nice playing. Sounds cool to me.

Thanks Ed. We'll just call it rock then!

Cheers

Great tune man! It kinda reminds of a few things: Yes, Zappa and perhaps even John McLaughlin. Nice mix.

I would classify it either as Jazz Rock, Latin Rock or even New Age Rock. That's really just nitpicking. All things being equal, it's definetly ROCK!

Could you describe how it was recorded?

Cool clip man. I'm not sure what to categorize it as, but it sure has a lot of energy in it! :)

This sounds really great. I dig it.

As far as genre, I guess it's just some kind of 'rock'. To me there are only two genres: Music I like, and music I don't like so much. This particular track belongs in the former catagory.

I love all the different guitar tones and effects throughout. Very cool.

From what little I can tell about the mix from my computer monitors, it has a 'the guitar is the most important part of this song' kind of mix. I tend to like an equal footing of all instruments in a mix, if at all possible. But that's just me. This is a great recording. Nice job.

Thanks for taking the time to listen and for the feedback folks!

I used Logic Platinum 6.3 in a Mac G4 466 as the DAW. For guitars, I used my Les Paul Custom thru a Mesa Rectoverb with a Boss DD20 delay, a Gibson J30 acoustic with a Rode NTK on it, the Les Paul thru a Musicman HD 2X10 combo for the clean vibrato parts with a Sennheiser e609s on it, the Les Paul thru a Flextone II combo (brit hi gain setting I think) with the Logic EQ on it - (the low frequencies taken right out for that lo fi radio sound) on the signature octave riff; the drums are from Spectrasonics Backbeat collection; "mastered" thru T-Racks.

I think that's about it!

What do you guys think? Feedback appreciated.

Thank you!

Cool stuff...............I would definitely be placing this in the Rock genre, sort of funky ................maybe it could be in the ...."FROCK".....genre :D

Nice recording there espskully.

I love the brightness and the clarity of all tracks, especially the guitars!
The drums are quite perky, maybe a slight tweaking in the lows but I enjoyed my listen!

Nice Work espskully...thanx for sharing! :)

Man, one more kick ass tune I have heard tonight. You guys are coming out of the woodwork!!

This is a great guitar-skill showcase song!! But it is too short!

It definately has a Ventures "pipeline" sig on it, and Carlos Santana...

You even have some Flamenco in there!!

Johnny Rivers "Secret Agent Man" in progressive rock action.

Bluesy dusting too.

I have listened to this like 8 going on 9 xs.

It's addictive whatever genre it is.

Well, how about Eprock.... :D

TRUE :)

Well done, man! Nice mix! Everything is nice!
Notes are flying in the stereo room. It was nice paning.
I can hear that it was panned specialy. Not just by channel.
Meny parts on each solo had special pan efects.
Instrumental is catchy, nice drums too.

Please give us some more stuff!

Instrumental Worldprogrock. Nicely done.

Yep, exactly that was my first thought, too.
Maybe 'World' is too much for this flamenco lick, but for the rest I fully
agree.

Yo' A/Esp, THIS JOINT is HOTTTT!!! Man I am soooo feelin' this!!!

A late 60's-early 70'ish/British tweed/Al Dimeola-reminding/Psychedelic, Rock/Euro-Jazz fusion with a driving tempo that's got my head bouncin'!! Your sparing & effective use of the flamenco/latino-flavored git-riff at the intro, @ :42 and the end, blended nicely in the song giving it added direction & flow!

Musical perf-wise!!?? On f#ckin' POINT brutha'!

Tracking & Mixing!!?? I hate you & I'm jealous! ( ;) :) ;) )

Burned to c/d for further musical experimentation & exploration!
.

Man, I LIKE THIS Aaron!

Peace,
Aaron
