new home recording studio

Hi to everybody,

I'm writing from Italy. I'm a guitar player that want to set up a small studio to record own music with the band.

I thought to use the PC and buy a good sound-card with the software included with effects and mixer and perhaps some microphones.

Here in Itaysomebody adviced me to by the YAMAHA SW1000XG and for the microphones yet, I don't know :-(

Is that card a good solution or anybody can advice me another one? and for the microphones (battery, voice and guitar?

Its great for recording guitar

Its awesome for recording guitar.(direct into its preamped line in port)..as you can apply the 24bit effects ,record & overdub at 24bit Then all the pcm midi samples give you a Korg M1 type synth
