hello.just wanted to say I'm very impressed with this site.I've been playing lead guitar for 32 years now and have recently purchased a new computer to attempt to record some of my musical ideas on a digital format.I have my guitars and amps, but really don't know much(other than what I've learned from this site)about interfacing the two together in-expensively.Any comments would be greatly appreciated, before I head out to the store.

A good digital audio soundcard provides the interface you need to hook up your mics and instruments to the computer and make a quality recording. The more channels on the sound card, the more you pay usually, so ask yourself how many channels you'll be wanting to record at the same time, and go from there. Use the search facility at the top of this page to check out loads of information about good soundcards in the archives, check out the homerecording.com main site itself for a good introduction to soundcards (and other things!), and hang around this bbs for a while - you'll learn.
