i like this song in a club atmosphere,,but i think a little bit slower,,with more punch and a smoother flow,,would take it to another level,,,it would be more original,,,not taking away from the song,,,it's just my first impression,,,

thanks fam for the feedbck...we mos def.. have been getting good feebak on this track right here so far..and thats good...I have a few thing to fix in the mix that I dont like but I will get it done..thanks for the feed...:D
 
the bassline is definitely hot!!
the hook is good - the verses are good too but the background vocals sound awkward -

needs more "energy" in the delivery i think

i like the song but just seems like their should be more "vigor" in his voice . . . to make u wanna git up git to ridin . . .
 
thanks for the feed there Gully.. I will see about gettin him to give a little more energy on the delivery..don't won't him to hype.we tryin to tame that cause cause can get too hype on a track real fast..
 
word i feel u - cuz i have to tone mine down too - some dudes i know for a minute be like y u switch it up? lol - i told him - sometimes more is too much, but not enough is never enough . . . lol - im talkin in circles . . .

Good concept.......I'm not sure where dude is from, sounds East Coast.......I would love to hear it spit by someone with that Southern swagger (eg..... Mystikal, BG, Jugalo lol....)Just to compare the delivery aspect of it! I say that because it sounds like a Dirty Dirty cut spit by a Northern Mcee. (Not automatically bad, just different) Sounds like MC Shan spitting a Trick Daddy Cut.
When he starts shouting out cities, countries, etc.......The echo needs to fade a bit better. (I know you said you are not completey done!) Overall I think it is mixed good, just need some polishing up!
There is something his background adlibs......Not sure exactly what it is! (It could be that I am not a fan of repeating the last word) Too 80ish..... RUN DMCish.....
I don't mind a quick in and out, but not sporadically throughtout the song.
Overall I like it Knot, I think you did some pretty good production on this. Mind you, my opinions come from my taste, so whatever works for you "Mr Produca"....I find flaws in everything! Or so I've been told........

One more quick note...........

I know you are pretty knowledgeable, but how many takes do you have of the MC? You should make sure that he recorded different levels of hypness and store them for later. You could have always copy and paste certain parts in the mix that you feel needs to be more hyper than others. That way you're done with the artist completely!

You may have done that, or you may have no interest in doing that, just figured I'll share that thought as well...........

Plus, I felt like typing more......... LOL
 
LOL.. good lookin on the feed fam... i think we did for takes..can't remeber.. he is from NY station down in VA where Im stationed..and we have recorded stuff before ('03-'04) when we were station up in NJ... but I feel what you are sayin..M best friend here in MD told me the same thing he wants to heat a southern cat on the beat also..not too take anything from FA$E..(he said he did his thing on the track..hes just not sold on his voice just yet) cause he said the beat goes hard...I think imma start doubling his vocals to see if I can get a different style out of it to make him have a better feel o his vocals...dude can right his ass off to the right beat...

I might give ya'll a sneak of a feature artist on his album that i will also be producing also from NY... GULLY knows how he sounds already...since he is goin to be on the "Where U At?" track and has a sample.. '08 is goin to busy..

but I know we will be re-recording the vocals on this again..and I will be mixing it better once i track out the beat which was made about 2 years ago (shhh don't tell no one)...no one wanted it...

His flow isn't convincing me on this track. I agree with Trump on this one. A Southern rapper would do this better. Let Gully hit that, he could do it more justice.

Did you record him or did you just give him the beat? I think the mix needs a lot of polishing. The lyrics aren't brought out enough to make it sound big. Here's a crazy idea you might wanna try though....just came to the dome. You might wanna drop the pitch in the verse (just a LITTLE) and delay it from the main vocals about a 32nd of a note. It might give it a little bit of depth and make him not sound so nasal.

Could you send me the beat so I can hear it on its own or is it on your sclick somewhere?

thanks for the feed... yeah i recorded him .. the mix isn't finish yet..but i feel what you sayin.. i will send you the beat... the original beat is on soundclick called "Trap Zone" ..I changed "Ride With Me" a bit.not much tho..

Yeah after I get it cleaned up and mixed a little better... we will be pushing this one and "Gotta Just"...
