New Delta 44 SoundCard..Ready to Record... but stuck

Everything works. But when i'm ready to record i start the instrumental and hit record in cool edit but then it tracks the beat too not "Just" my voice. When i had my creative sound card i could control all of this in the recording properties in my windows mixer...anyone know anything i can try.
 
So are you saying that it's recording whatever is on (for example) track 1 in addition to what you're trying to record on (for example) track 2, so that you end up with track 2 being a mix of track 1 and whatever you tried to record? If so, this comes up all the time, and I really need to find that thread from about a year ago where it was explained. I just copied and pasted from what was then the syntrillium site, b/c it's the most common question associated with CEP...or it was at the time. The most common question NOW is probably something like, why does my CEP keep opening up PhotoShop?, lol.
