New Delta 44 - Set-Up Issues

OK, I just installed my new Delta 44 soundcard into my new Pentium 4 2.0 GHz, 512Mb SDRAM, 80 Gig H(7200rpm). I installed the driver that came with it for Windows XP, and it came up as being "not digitally signed". I proceeded anyhow, and everything went together well.

HOWEVER....when I plug my electric guitar into the #1 IN on the break out box, I get movement on the on-screen control board (LED indicator moves up and down), but no sound from my desktop speakers (soon to be replaced with proper monitors).

Furthermore, when I select the Delat 44 Multichannel setting as my playback source of choice, I get no windows sounds at all.

What am I doing wrong?

Make sure that you have the monitor levels up on your delta control panel

Also how is your sound getting from the delta to your speakers?

**Alas...your question may be at the root of the problem...I assumed the Delta 44 would route sound through the computer and out the speakers plugged into the back of the tower...clearly, looking a the manual again, I need to run speakers from the OUT jacks on the break out box.

I would have thought the Delta 44 would simply begin to function as the computer's soundcard, playing through the silly little desktop speaker that came with the computer.

What a learning curve I have ahead of me....

I would remove the soundcard you got with the computer or if it's onboard disable it through your bios

There is no point running two as one will be taking up resources and IRQ spots

I agree,

However, if you are using this computer for your other functions, it is still possible to have both soundcards together on your system, but like Tukkis said, it is probably best just to have the one.
