Bloodsoaked

Death Metal Freak
I would love to get some feedback on this mix. I know the blast beats are not realistic/human sounding, I am looking for feedback on the overall mix and sound of this song.

2 Guitar tracks panned 90% left
2 Guitar tracks panned 90$ right
1 Bass track centered.

I used my V-Amp Pro for the guitar and bass tracks. I used Beatcraft my drum tracks and Mixcraft for mixing/mastering.

Thank you and any and all comments are welcome good or bad.

Not bad at all!!!

Ok, the drums are a tad drowned there, understandably, if you think they sound bad,,, But in this sort of music they're usually quite audible, guitars sound good! The bass seems buryed, but that's usual to this type too. Dunno... I'd take the vox down just a tiny bit. Otherwise sounds good to me!

Thanks a lot for listening dude.

I turned down the drums in the fast parts (blast beats) so the snare was not over powering everything. So to your ears the drums seem low in the overall mix?

I played with the vocals for a while and had them up and down and up and down...LOL Today is a new day so I will tweak things a bit more.

Thank you again for listening and commenting.....anyone else?

The guitars are panned a bit too much off center. Try panning one of the left guitars 90% and the other 40% or 50%, likewise with the right. It should balance things out more. Good sound otherwise!

I will tray that and see how it sounds. Thank you for your comments.

Hey, hope you don't mind me asking but what would two guitar tracks panned on each side do to the recording??

Why not just use one track on each side?

Also, did you record the two tracks on one side separately or did you just use it for clearer quality??

Thanks a ton.

I am not sure about all the technical stuff but with 2 tracks left and 2 guitar tracks right the guitars sound much thinker and fuller.

Wait, so did you just copy and paste the same tracks on both sides??

New Mix Of An Instrumental I Did Awhile Back

oops, wrong thread

Each take has a different contour, meaning that the frequencies of the distortion come in and out at different times. Layering the takes fills in some of the gaps, which make it sound "fuller". There are other things going on, but that's the main difference between doing separate takes and just copying and pasting one take.

I thought the vocals were a tad too loud. And those blasts need to be heard. I would like to hear the snare a little more. Sounded really good though.

I have been working on getting the vocals just right.

So you think the blast beats need to be louder? A lot of people complain when the snare is so lound in the mix on the blast....Hmmmmmm.

Peter

vox are a little loud, and i can barely hear the snare! raise the snare, and maybe trim some hi-mids off the vocals. other than that, sounds cool to me. guitars are big and chunky sounding. kick drum sounds pretty good.

I have been tweaking it a bit and I will re-port a new mix in a few days. I have lowed the vocals and did raise the snare on the slower parts. SOme hi-mids off the vocals huh? I will look into that. Thanks.
