Hi, all! I'm brand new to marketing myself, something I'm very uncomfortable doing. I'm extremely comfortable gigging and recording, but marketing gives me a bad taste in my mouth. I'm open for others' experiences on how they broke the ice to start marketing themselves. All I've done so far is register it with cdbaby, so at least it will be out there. Getting people to hear it is another story. I let all my facebook friends know, but I got a ton of "wow's" and "congrats" and only a couple of sales.
In the meantime, my first album was completely performed, recorded, mixed, and mastered in my bedroom. Based on others' feedback, I succeeded in not only sounding like a real band, but sounding like a band recorded in a real studio.
