Ok, I would like to ask your opinion of what would make a good computer for my setup. I am using 2 aardvark Q10's for a max total of 16 recorded channels at a time. Most of my projects use about 24 tracks or so. My biggest concern is latency. What would be some decent specs for a computer for this setup? I am looking at AMD because their products work great for me. I am looking at the XP 3000+, 1GB of Ram, and of course a couple of HD's. The mobo is the ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe. I just want to make sure that I have a computer that can handle what I need it to do. Thanks!

i'm a computer engr(my day job for years).
i went amd for bang for buck. its difficult to advise on motherboards due to how fast the computer industry changes. but i do have some tips.....
1. contact the manufacturer of your sound card(s) bwefore buying computer
to ensure soundcard is compatible with mbd and chipset.
2. if using pci based sound cards dont put anything else in the pci slots except your sound card.(a precautionary measure),
3. make sure the seller of the computer enables dma on the hard drives. some forget when they build it.
4. use good quality memory and an overspeccd power supply in case you plan on adding a lot of other peripherals down the road.
just some ideas.

I know that Digidesign, for example, had problems with SATA drives, so you might also ask Aardvark if they have any problems with the HDD you are considering.
