I finally have somewhere to build a new studio!! I would like the recoarding booth to be as soundproof as possible! is there a way to do this with your commune building materials or at least get wrid of a lot of external walls!
Also... How big dose a room have to be for drum recording? Dose it matter if it's small? :)

Well, there are some questions that need to be answered before we can recommend anything.

1. How much space do you have for your studio?
2. Do you have any kind of measured floorplan (or can you create one)?
3. When you say "recording booth" are you referring to a vocal booth, drum booth, control room, etc?
4. Do you want a space that has dedicated rooms for vocals, drums, and control room?
5. How much $$ are you wanting/willing to spend?

As far as the space required for drum recording goes, the minimum is whatever it takes to setup a drum kit. A somewhat larger room than that minimum would be recommended, but that is a starting point. I think it takes about 6x8 feet minimum to setup a decent drum kit and have space for a drummer.

If you can provide answers to these questions we can begin helping you layout your space.

Cheers,
Darryl.....
