Ok my search continues for a better drum sound, seems like the snare is my big issue now. Lately I've put plywood on the bottom of the kit to get the toms in the overheads and to get some snare sound from the snare drum. I'd still like more snare sound, any suggestions listening to this mix? There is 4 mics on the kit, two OH's and one on the snare and the kick

To my ears the snare seems good. You will know more when you put the kit in a mix. For me the kick is tuned too high and actually seems to step on the entire kit. If the pitch were lowered then the volume might be ok. Nice playing.

I may have misunderstood your question. If you are looking for more snare buzz, you might be stuck with micing the bottom. I have had good luck with a small condenser pushed very close to the bottom rim, not actually under the snare drum.

A thinner bottom head and snare wires with more strands comes to mind also, ala Dunnnett.
