Neutrik Combo Patchbay

Is there such a thing as a patchbay with those neutrik combo xlr-1/4" connectors? I am thinking of getting the motu 896 and the digimax lt-- both have these combo connectors. rather than reach behind each box, i was hoping i could get a patchbay to make my life easier. does such a thing exist? thanks.

People like Markertec, or Gepco, can make panels for you in any configuration you might like.
However ........ the recepticles you mention are not really suitable for that kind of use. They are designed especially to provide a multi purpose recepticle for speaker signals, with a balanced (XLR) and an unbalanced (1/4" long) choice. Second, they are big. Third, having such a panel made will be expensive.
You will find you'll be much better of buying a real patchbay.
Another tip - stay away from the "cheapies". You're better of buying a second hand good bay

The other thing that is missing from any XLR-based patchbay is normalling: XLRs do not have normalling contacts (and neither do the Neutrik combo connectors), so to make it work, you have to have a patch cable in place.

It's better to build or buy XLR-TRS adapter cables, and use TRS patchbays. With that, you can use the normalling contacts to set up a default signal flow- then, the only time you need to use a patch cable is when you want to set up an exception to the default flow.
