Pronouncing Behringer

I guess my straight line didn't elicit any smart-ass comments! How do you pronounce Behringer? I expected either (1) "Crap" or (2) "If you never buy the junk, why would you have to pronouce it."

I'm German, so here's how we do it:

Neumann is pronounced Noyman; the a is pronounced similar to the a in "father", just a little shorter.

Behringer is pronounced with a light vowel similar to the e in "best", but a little longer.

do u say sennheiser sign-is-er, or sign-ize-er, or senn-hi-zer?

combine the art of Zen with the end of ioniser

Herwig (that's unpronounceable for non-german-language-speaking :p )

Ok here's my try:

Sennheiser=Zenhizer
Neumann=Noymunn ('cause the vowel in man just doesn't fit)

Here in the South it is pronounced: "Ner-man"

...well, maybe not.

Neuman u87

is it "noy-man You 87" or "noy-man micro 87" since that "u" is a symbol for "micro" as in "microfarad"?

micro would be µ, not u.

I think it would be okay in an english speaking context to say

"you 87", it would sound more german (as if anyone would like to sound german...) to say "ooh 87" (yes, ooh. Like in ooh, baby!)

Actually pronouncing U (= Universalmikrofon) "ooh" would only make sense if you pronounced the number in German as well. Which I guess nobody would do.

Sennheiser as others have suggested is "Zen-hi-zer," accent on the first syllable.

I'm tying to think of other German brand names

Beyer ("Bye-er") comes to mind. Others are mostly just letters such as AKG (actually Austrian), RME or SPL or are english language coinages anyway, such as Mindprint.
