I cant say much, this left me lost for words, honestly.

Its sad and bring tears to the eyes, yet its just Beautifull.

I know you said it was Brazilian but, It really gives me an Italian feel kinda like the last scene in the godfather, when he bites it all alone in his chair.

thanks for sharing.

Ps, my wife heard it as well, she thought it stood out as beautifull from the racket that I normally play

Sounds great Tim, nice tone, balance and eq on my PC speakers. :D

Like Nak says - very moody, lots of dark feeling on this.

BTW - listened to Dorian again the other day and really enjoyed it. :D

Man, that's pretty good playing. :) And really good composition.

Could be longer for sure. Had a Johannes Linstead touch in there somewhere. Although, he'd be considered pop by this standard. He's flamenco actually.

:)

Anyoo, ....

Great, Mr Timothy!
"Nesta Rua" is music we call in Brazil "cantiga de roda" (don´t found a properly translate), but is "music for childs", the kind that all 4 or 5 years old childrens learn to sing.Good version!

I Like a lot others themes, too much "segoviana" (without words,incredible...despite the "short" mp3)

(only a detail):in "Nesta rua" you´re repeating the first four bars (considering tempo as 4/4 ,and when melodies starts) ,but sounds a little strange to me,´cause in version that everybody knows in brazil, the repetition of these bars don´t happens (maybe this "rittornelo" is your intention...)
But is a detail in your superb recording.

WOW!!!!! Very pretty tune Tim...nice tone for it. Playing is awesome, as always. The sounds are just fantastic. I don't know anything of the origins, but this sounds veery cool. Way too short. It could easily be 5 minutes, and still keep me interested.

I can fin no faults in the sounds....mixed well, and clean.

Wow....very cool man.....

Sighhhhhhh....Tim, that was beautiful...absolutely beautiful. Ohhh and look..the fire burning in the fireplace, casts a warm glow in the room, it's hypnotic flames moving about in flickers and swells of light. The wine is perfectly chilled, and the french doors give a wonderful view of the snowfakes, as they dance their way to the ground.

The nite is magnifico :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Bravo, Tim!
You will be quilty if I start any acouctic project soon.

Beautiful piece Tim.

You always leave me so impressed if not awed at the quality of your performances, and your recordings.

If you ask me... sounded perfect :D
Sounds like a cool moody scene in a movie... really enjoyed the feel and mood to this. The sounds too, guitar sounds great!

Naka – thanks and tell your wife thanks too. I think the harmony on this is very similar to Italian song style, and the arpeggio accompaniment.

ido1957, bigbubba, Dogman, sikter, metalhead – thanks much my friends

True – thanks for the listen and for the descriptive backdrop

Ciro – very interesting info on the song – thanks! I didn’t know much about its background other than a rough translation of the title. I’ll check out the phrasing. I’ll have to look for a vocal version of this to listen to. I’ve just been playing it from a printed collection of Brazilian duets.

Thanks guys. I did this one with a different front end and computer system than my usual so your feedback has been helpful.

EDIT: Snakedog, you must have been posting just when I was. Thanks.

Tim

Sounds great man. Love the tone of both guitars but especially the one panned left. Great melody and playing man, wish I had more to say. Loved it.
Take care

gbav - thanks Gary. Same guitar on both parts but the higher line on the right does sound a lot brighter... just the mic/guitar combination I think.

Here's another...

A Rosa Vermelha (a red rose)

Here are a couple pics if anyone's interested. This is my teaching studio where I've got some low end gear set up to let students get some hands-on experience with recording. First pic has the KEL-HM1 with the EH pre in the background. Second pic you can see the positioning of the HM1 in front of the chair. I used the HM1 on A Rosa Vermalha, and used one of the Shure BG4 mic's (at left in second pic) for the other tune, but placed where the HM1 is. The little pile of gear in the third pic is an old 166 MHz machine... I used the Behringer mixer for an out-of-box mixdown with the hardware verb unit under the mixer.

Nice playing Tim. The composition was first rate and the recording was pretty good too. Reminds me of a Argentinian piece I heard about three months ago by...umm...can't remember.

I agree with everybody here, maybe just a little longer. But I know how it is when you have a piece that you think is perfect and the people are left wanting more. That's a good thing. Even I listened to it twice. :D

Nice Job

That sounded great , I just got up and it really put me in a relaxing mood. I agree with the other post that would be a great piece in a movie somewhere. Lets hear another.

Very, very sweet Timothy.
The playing, recording & mixing are all superb.
The snaps of your set up indicate a very organised person & tidy mind too.
Cheers

Tim, just listened to Vermelha, and it was also very nice.
And thanks for posting the pics.....pretty cool to see some of the stuff, and how you have it set up. :D

Tim loved the second song as well. I've really found myself listening to both of these quite a bit since I've heard them. These for me rank up there with some of my fave songs ive heard on this board. Just hit a chord with me I suppose. Very cool pics as well. Very nice looking studio / space.

Take care
