First of all i would like to thank everyone that has been kind enough to help me out.

1) my question is how thick does the neoprene have to be?
i have a 1/2" and a 3/8" glass windows. does the neoprene go in all 4 sides of the window meaning all around the window for both windows?

2) where can i buy neoprene i'm near Los Angeles or somewhere online where i can get it?

3) do i have to get hard or soft neoprene or what grade?

thanx

1/2" EPDM rubber (60 Durometer hardness) is your best (not cheapest) bet for floor floating - typical life of 25 years compared to about 10 years for neoprene.
This specification is compliments of knightfly on John Sayers Studio design site. He is the moderator in the construction forum. Although it is spec'd for flooring, you can use it under windows too. But 1/4" will work. Either one continuous strip, or small blocks with silicone between.

here is an example on ebay.. search for 1/4" or 1/2" thick and cut as needed.

Or call a glass vendor. They use neoprene setting blocks for heavy glass store fronts. I'm sure they will sell some. But as far as seals, all around the glass, just use silicone before you put the wood stops in. OR. you can find an edge seal at Auto Glass vendors, but usually this is for the thickness of auto glass. If you want something to seal 3/8" or 1/2", ask any glass place that deals in aluminum/glass storefronts.
