neighbor calling the cops on me...help!

I have a building 24 by 32. I built it for recording. The problem is the bass tones are escaping through the 2 doors and one window. Enter the cops. Is there a way that I can block these problem areas? Maybe a seal of some type. It is not possible to build airtight entrances because the way that they are placed throughout the room. Will a sound blanket of some sort work? I can build a box around the window...but the doors are gonna be a problem. My neighbor suddenly became instant asshole...whole other story.

There are some good door seals that you can buy, that run right around the edge, and they reckon that it cuts out sound. Just make sure the door is shut tight on them.


For the bottom of the door there are some screw-on door bottoms that supposedly cutout sound, or you can get a roll of thick padding that jams in the bottom.


AS for the door, Solid wood doors are the best, but im guessing you already have those??

and double doors are out of the question right??

well maybe you could make a sound-absorbing panel to go on the inside of the door, so not as much makes it through to the outside.

From experience though, it seems the highs and mids are easier to deaden than the lows....

so if all else fails.........

put some earplugs in you neighbours letterbox.
