thinking about buying the 4 channel dbx 4400 behringer compressor. They've got it at mars for $129 or $119. It look pretty good to me, but i don't know alot about compressors. any feedback would be a big help. oh, and don't tell me about other compressors. Just let me know about this one or what experience you've had with behringer. I don't need the "options" thing. I'll get too confused.

I'm ordering one this monday. I'm getting it for the live radio and community tv stuff I do, I use software compression for recording. I'll let you know what I think of it.

MDX4400....

good little unit...it may not give ya the squashing type compression you want for tv and radio, but it will hold its own....limiter works great......

4 channels for $119 is a steal....

why not get two autocoms? i think the price would end up being very similarand you will get a few more features (three extra knobs per channel) including a handy expander/gate and a hi freq. enhancer which stops the sound from muddying up....and like i said i don't think this option will destroy your budget, its worth taking a look at

It doesn't give you controll over attack and release times, so it doesn't score very high in flexibility.

However, as Gidge stated, the limiters are good. If you're recording to daw, the 4 channels worth of limiters are great for preventing digital clipping.
