If you listen through your headphones you can experiment and decide which sound you think is best-after all that is what it comes down to.

If there is any more info that you need to answer me please ask. I need to know if you should be close to the mic or not and whatever else you can tell me. The mic I use is a V-Tech dynamic microphone-VT 1030, it's a 600 ohm unidirectional mic.

I'm not familliar with that mic, but try about 4 inches away. Then listen back....

Try 2 inches, and sing across the windscreen, not directly into it, (This will reduce pops on "Plosives" like "p" and "B")

For a cool effect, take the mike into the shower (With the water off!) and sing about 2 feet away, try turning the mic towards the wall.... just experiment.

Use one main mic for the vocal; if you can with an extra track available, put a second mic off to the right or left of the singer, just so it will pick up enough to record;

when you mix down, use both vocal tracks to help put the vocal up front; it is an interesting thing to try; I love experiment. Isn't that what Edison did?

Hey, man, twiddle the dials and have fun.

About the shower; well, that's what FX is for.

Whatever.
