need sustain setting alesis 3630 compressor

I am trying to tweak this alesis 3630 compressor(everyone knows this one but me) to simply get a reeeeaaaallllyyyyy loooonnng sustained single note on my geetar.

Got it from a garage sale for 10 bucks and it works.....

Some people think that the 3630 is a POS but it depends on which version you have. If you have one of the older versions (rev A or revB) you may not be able to get it to do anything that will sound good. For $10, you could hardly go wrong. They can be upgraded and made to sound VERY GOOD but not many guys have the expertise to pull it off, as it requires some advanced soldering skills. I modded mine and it turned out Excellent. Your best bet is to get a BOSS or ARIA compressor that is made for guitar. It will be much easier to use. The down side is that a compressor made for guitar isn't good for much else....oh well...
