Hey HR! I am currently in the process of building a Vocal Booth in my office. I was originally going to completely cake my walks with acoustic foam, but decided that was going to be insanely expensive since it's huge and I'm just starting out. So, instead, I'm going to build a DIY small Vocal Booth. For a small DIY booth, will acoustic foam work perfectly? I keep reading about wool, fiberglass and other stuff that are better, but this is for a small vocal booth that I am just using for Voice-Over work. The foam I would be using is Auraflex (Thinking about the pyramid 2 inch). Much appreciated!

Foam absorbs the highs, but leaves the low-mids and lows to bounce around and make 'mud'. How large is this vocal booth going to be? You may do better to stay in your big room with some real broadband absorbers and a stand-mounted mic shield.
