Having trouble getting your kick to stand out in the mix? Try moving the kick track just a hair earlier than your other tracks. you shouldn't be able to hear the timing difference, but since there will be less frequency energy occurring at the time of the kick, the kick will have a greater resonance. i know, it seems odd... but it also seems to work.
