Need Sound Card Compatible with Dell Inspiron 8000

Hi,
After reading about several Dell Inspiron 8000 users and conflicts with MOTU 828, I am trying to evaluate what other sound card might work with the Inspiron 8000?

Is anyone using the MOTU 828 with a Dell Inspiron 8000?

Is anyone able to recommend another sound card-by your current experience?

Hi j,

The Inspiron 8000 has a Pentium III. Mine is 900mhz. It is firewire enabled. That's the interface MOTU 828 supports. However, I've read several posts from people who are having trouble getting the 828 to perform with the Inspiron 8000. Traditionally, MOTU is Mac platform.
MOTU has some tech notes posted to their website about the 8000 and 828 issues. www.motu.com

I am hoping to hear someone report they are using the 8000 together with the MOTU 828 without any problems.

didn't realize this was a notebook at first.......have you contacted Dell about reassigning IRQ settings?
