So here is what I got... I have got some guitar parts done on a song that some of them are recorded with a POD and some are recorded through a 57 and some through a AT4040. The song is a pop punk recorded through Marshall amps. The song has some palm muted parts and when they are played there is a lot of bass build up. It seems to be in the 250 hz range and if I eq it out the guitar sounds really thin and bad. The track that seems to be most affected is the POD track and that is also the best track being the rest is recorded through marshalls...(sounds thin like marshalls' do). I have tried to compress them and I still get the bass build up. Any tricks that you guys have for I sure other people have run into this. Any help would be sweet...Thanks.

This is a common issue.

Use a MBC on the bottom.

A good starting point is

Attack: 15ms
Release: 80ms
BW: 0-270Hz
Threshold: To taste but should only dig in with palm mutes
Ratio: 2:1 to 3:1

I don't have a "Multiband Compresser" I have Pro Tools 8 the only multi band that I have is in the T-Racks by IK Multimedia (which sucks) Isn't there a way to make a Multiband compresser using the plug ins that I have. Can anyone explain this process to me?...Please.

Can you set the "desser" that is built into protools around 250hz?
also check out your 7-8 k range, that can get a little harsh and fizzy too, especially in Solid State Amps
