I am looking for software that will allow me to connect my guitar directly to the soundcard on my PC using a 1/4" to 1/8" jack adapter and will display the notes and chords on a staff in real-time as they are played. I want the program to also save what I am playing so that I will be able to print out the finished piece as sheet music. NoteSmart can do exactly what I am looking for but unfortunately it is only for MIDI equipped instruments. Any suggestions?

Guitar to MIDI converter and a copy of CW 6 or later.
I like the Axon, but the Yamaha got a decent review here.

I havent seen the Axon, in fact I think that
me and drstawl posted something similar a while
ago, but I say It wont work, especially for notation.

I do fancy pants classical stuff, so timing is
crucial. But the problem with latency is
too big for me, it is so late that I cant use
it, and Notation software is nuts unless you
play like a computer.

DrS:Can that thing really work? I play some
guitar, but I am a violinist. I have been
searching for a pitch to midi interface for
15 years. Any ideas? Violin is more complicated
because of the bow, but I would love to get
my hands on something that would actually
work. How accurate is it? Advice please,
my keyboard skills slow my down. Cheers, David
