Need More USB Advice

This is for a friend, actually. She's trying to use a USB via an M-Audio something or other. Anyway, I know how to set up CEP/AA to record through a soundcard, but how do you do it when you're bypassing the card completely?

I'm missing what you want to do? Does she want to record/playback through the usb m-audio or something different?

Yeah, so am I ... and this is difficult because I can't see her computer. All I know is, she has an m-audio unit that uses a USB cable. She's installed the software, and I don't even know how to tell her how to configure the software. Like with mine, I just set it to record from the card, L. Should she have other options there when she hits the "Rec 1" button?
