need monitors for Pro tools setup

I need a couple of small powered monitors for pro tools recordings, just to do some basic mixing of voices/sound FX, and maybe some background music.....don't need high end, but don't want crap either....want to be able to turn out decent recordings without any obvious problems (low end too boomy, etc.)
What's the barometer on this? Can I get something decent for $200, or am I looking at $400-500? Recommendations welcome...
