need manual for g-16

Can someone point me in the right direction to obtain a manual for the fostex g-16? Recently purchased one and I'm an analog newbie, so I need some help!

Also, can anyone give me some history on this model? When were they introduced/discontinued, etc..?

Did you try the Fostex website? They may have some information on there. But I can't really tell you if they still carry information on their discontinued models. Or any tech support....

yeah, i tried there, they only have documentation for newer models.

I called tech support at Fostex for manual for an old 280. They have the old ones on file, and they will burn you a copy. It cost me about 10$ to have it copied and sent.

That was going to be my next suggestion. Call the tech number or email them.
